Day 1 - Saturday - Arrival in Mexico
Meeting at Leon airport at the arrival of our flight. Transfer from the airport to Hacienda San Raphael where we will meet our guide, the horses and the other riders. During the afternoon short ride of 2 hours to get use the horse. In the evening Special welcome dinner and night at the hacienda. Day 2 - Sunday Today we will participate in making our own mexican style breakfast and learn to make tortillas (tortilla is a flat corn bread stuffed with differents ingredients. It is the basis of mexican cuisine). we will saddle up and leave the hacienda for you first day in the area. We will ride through the rugged foothills with spectacular views, las sierras forest, El Maguey pass and Los Ranchos. Lunch at the hacienda's restaurant and free afternoon for montain bike, hiking, fishing.... or just relax. Dinner and night at the hacienda. (4 hrs ride) Day 3 - Monday After breakfast at the Hacienda, Jorge Serrano, our guide, will pick us up and drive us to Hacienda El Ahito, a working cattle ranch, where some horses will be awaiting for us. Today we will experience the local cowboys life style and participate in working activities as cattle driving, inspection of the pastures and at the cows etc... We will ride to El Potrero Las Canadas where we will help local cowboys to count and check the Cimental cattle. Later we will ride El Robozo Ranch where we can admire Mr. De Alba's horse tack museum and have a tequila. Lunch at the ranch with Mr De Alba and local Charros. In the evening we will drive back to Hacienda San Rafael for dinner and night. (6-7 hours ride) Day 4 - Tuesday Today we will participate again in making our own mexican style breakfast by learning to make Chilaquiles (a tortilla chips stuffed with tomato sauce, cheese and cream). After this hearty breakfast we will saddle up our horses to help the charros to count and check the Charlolaise cattle. Lunch at the hacienda and in the afternoon ride to the Portrero of las grullas where we will find the appaloosa mares. We will be back at the Hacienda in the end of the afternoon for a roping demonstration. Dinner and night at the Hacienda. (5 hrs ride) Day 5 - Wednesday After breakfast, drive to Hacienda Sepulveda where we will saddle our horses and go for a ride towards Hacienda La Labor. Jesus Vega, the owner of the ranch will offer us a special lunch afterwhat we will visit the hacienda, his saddle collection and enjoy the unique way of mecixan roping with Jesus Chargas. In the afternoon we will go for a ride with Mr Vega on the land of the hacienda before heading back to Hacienda Sepulveda. Dinner and night at the Hacienda.(5 hours ride) Day 6 - Thursday After breakfast we will saddle up our horses and leave for a new Hacienda. On the road we will cross a local vilage and after a spectacular canyon we wil arrive to the hacienda. Exhibition of quarter miles register horses. Lunch with the Alcazar Family, the owners of the ranch. Then after lunch we will find our way back to hacienda Sepulveada. Dinner and night at the Hacienda. (5 hours ride) Day 7 - Friday After breakfast we will ride to El Monte ranch throught the 1000 acres of the ranch. We will ride along river beds, through pastures and corn feilds on well maintained trails. This ranch has many Mezquites in different areas and we will experience going throught forest of Mezquites. Lunch at the Hacienda restaurant. Then after lunch we will go back to Hacienda Sepulveda and enjoy a free after noon for montain bike, hiking, fishing.... or just relax. Dinner and night at the hacienda. (3-4 hrs ride) Day 8 - Saturday A special breakfast will be served in the restaurant. In the mornig, ride to La Angostura where we will pass big rock formation. The ride will offer us a noce view of the local landscape. Lunch in Hacienda San Cayetano with the Alcazar Family. Then in the afternoon we will return to Hacienda Sepulveda and get ready to visit the city. Tour of the colonial town of Lagos de Moreno to visit its beautiful plazas and historical buildings. Walk in the histiric center. We will have the opportunity to visit the antique store Montecristo and Shop at the equestrian charro store "El Malecon". Special farwell Dinner and night at the Hacienda. (5 hours ride) Day 9 - Sunday Breakfast at the Hacienda. Transfer to the airport according to your departure time. Working Ranch Stay (8 days / 7 nights)Day 1 - Arrival in Mexico Meeting at Leon airport at the arrival of your flight. Transfer from the airport to Hacienda Ahito where we will meet our guide, the horses and the other riders. Tour visitingthe Hacienda 30 min. Lunch in the Hacienda. After lunch riders may familiarize themselves with their mounts, tack and enjoy a short 2 hours ride around the hacienda. Dinner and night in La Hacienda. Day 2 Breakfast in la Hacienda. Saddle horses for count and checking the charolaise cattle. 3 hrs ride Lunch in Hacienda el Ahito. Ride to the potrero of Las grullas where the appaloosa mares are. 2hrs ride. Free evening. Dinner and night at the Hacienda. Day 3 Breakfast in the hacienda. After we saddle horses, today we will ride to El Potrero Las Cañadas where we will help local cowboys to count and check the Cimental cattle 1:30 hrs ride. After Las Cañadas we will Ride to El Robozo Ranch 1:30 hrs Ride. You will be able to admire the museum of horse tack of Mr. De Alba. Tequila time. Lunch in the Ranch with Mr. De Alba and local Charros and cowboys. In the evening ride back to el Ahito. 2 hrs ride. Dinner and night in Ahito. Day 4 Breakfast in the Hacienda. Count and check cattle, thick treatment. (available only in the season) Lunch. Count of cattle used for charreria. Visit El Ahito dam and El Potrero of la Presa. Drive to Hacienda Sepulveda Hotel & SPA 25 min. Welcome margarita, 30 min tour visiting the Hacienda. Special welcome dinner the hacienda Corral. Day 5 Breakfast in the Hacienda Sepulveda. Saddle horses and ride to Hacienda San Cayetano. 1:30 hrs. As soon as we enter San Cayetano property we will see the Brave Bulls. Then we will continue to The Canyon, spectacular canyon, at the end of the canyon, you will see very particular rock formations. 4 hrs Ride. Exhibition of quarter horse register horses. Lunch in Hacienda San Cayetano, with the Alcazar Family. Ride back to Hacienda Sepulveda 1 hr. Free evening: Hiking, Fishing, rowing in Lake, carriage Ride, mountain bike. Dinner at the Hacienda Sepulveda Restaurant. Day 6 Breakfast in Mamalena Restaurant. We will saddle horses and ride to Hacienda La Labor, where Mr. Jesus Vega will be waiting us to ride along us in his property. 3hrs ride. Lunch in Hacienda La Labor with the Vega Familiy. Roping Exhibition. Ride back to Hacienda Sepulveda along the Lago river, 1:30 hrs ride. Optional evening activitiy: Drive 5min to Visit La Trojita stable of Holstein cattle, milk producer Free evening: SPA: Holistic Massage (extra cost), sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi. Dinner in Hacienda Sepúlveda third patio, Mexican fiesta!! Day 7 Saddle horses and ride to La Angostura 3 hrs ride. In la Angostura you will see in the rain season a beatifull cascade. Many rock formations you will see. Lunch in Hacienda San Cayetano. Ride back to Hacienda Sepulveda 1:30 hrs. passing thougth El Monte Ranch. Optional evening activity: City tour to Lagos de Moreno, colonial Town. Shopping at Montecristo antique store and El Malecon horse tack store. Dinner in La Rinconada Restaurant, the most famous in Town. Day 8 - Departure Brunch in the gardens. Transfer to Leon Airport. EXTEND YOUR TRIPFor any continuation of your

HORSES AND REQUIRED RIDING LEVEL
Horses
The horses are quater horses, arabians, pure blod and mexican criollos. Tack The tack is Western or Mexican Charro. Required riding level We ride from 2 to 6 hours each day, often on hilly ground or at a sustained pace, with numerous gallops. So it is necessary to have a certain endurance on horseback and to be able to manage his horse at all paces. Accompagned children are allowed if minimum 14 years old. Maximum weight for riders : 125 kg YOUR GUIDESThe rides are supervised by Jorge Serrano a local experienced guide, who perfectly know the ground and the horses. Ostlers will take care of the horses but if you wish to saddle and unsaddle your own horse you will be welcome to do so. ACCOMMODATIONAccommodation
Accommodations for the Five hacienda Ride and the Working Ranch Stay are in two different haciendas from the 17th and 18th century, there are colonial houses built around a patio. They reflects the Mexican architecture with individual rooms and private bathrooms all decorated with Mexican taste. Food To the Haciendas, you will eat typical Mexican and gourmet cuisine recepies from the grandmother. All the haciendas offer a specail dish, with the specail homemade flavour... Meals feature original Mexico recipes passed down through generations. Very affordable for foreigners. Enjoy a breakfast in the garden or a candlelight dinner with private serenade... Possibility to arrive also at Guadalajara airport (GDL) with extra cost (1h30 transfer) CLIMATE Mexico has a semi arid climate which is tempered by altitude in the region where the trail ride
takes place (nights are cold from november to March, with average 3°C (never below 0°C)), but days are perfect for horse riding. Rooms are made in order riders feel very well.
From June to August, it's the rainy season, but as we are riding in a semi arid area, there isn't to much rain. Usually it rains at night or around 6pm, so horse riding is perfectly possible. Formalities
