ITINERARYDay 1 - Sunday
Arrival to the riding center at the end of the day. Dinner and overnight in guesthouse. Day 2 - Monday We begin our ride through the forest of Montmurran, in passing in front of the castle. Our steps lead us then towards quiet canal of Ile and Rance, in the direction of Bédé. We make our first picnic lunch stop in a charming frame, at the edge of the pond of Bazouges. We get back into the saddle for the afternoon ride through the Breton counrtyside, before arriving at the pond of the Coal nut of150 hectare surface, where we can bathe horses. Dinner and overnight in guesthouse. Day 3 - Tuesday After breakfast, we prepare our horses to leave at about 10 am. We cross another forest this morning, that of Bourgouet, before putting the cape on Saint Leger of Meadows, where we lunch. At the conclusion of the picnic, we leave in a route afforested to arrive in the natural domain of Higourdais, a classified site. This first part of the circuit will allow you to discover High Brittany, with its hollow roads, its bocages, its granite houses and its tiny spread chapels. The dinner and night are planned in Epiniac guesthouse. Day 4 - Wednesday This morning, we leave our accommodation and ride in the direction of the village of Epiniac. It is the occasion to cross not far from the castle of Landal and to discover the ecosystem of Higourdais. After the break to have lunch, our steps lead us towards the typical villages of Saint Marcan and Saint Broladre, situated on the verge of polders. Dinner and night to Saint Brolade. Day 5 - Thursday We cross this day the landscapes radically different from previous stages. A long stroll makes us discover polders and herbus, these spaces between earth and sea where come to throw themselves all the small rivers. After a reconstituting picnic, we take again our road along Couesnon, river with which the water marks the border between Brittany and Normandy. So, according to, the centuries, the Mount St Michel was Breton or Normand ! Day 6 - Friday It is the long-awaited day today when we are going to cross the famous Bay. We cross by the rock of Tomblaine, as put in the middle of this sand sea, and join the Andaine Beak, situated on the other side of the Bay. It is the occasion to discover a particularly wild environment, different from all that you were able to know until now. Return in the guesthouse for the dinner and the night. Warning : the program of this day is given as a rough guide. We modify frequently the route according to the meteorological conditions to the state of the ground. We cannot always pass everywhere, and the game of tides modifies profoundly the landscapes and the possible passages according to days. Also, we shall adapt the program of this day to take into account schedules of tides. Finally, we'll not stop systematically to the Mount, the place where we can leave the horses is limited and the number of visitor often very important. The most part of time, we visit the Mount on the evening as the guesthouse isn't far from the guesthouse. Day 7 - Saturday After breakfast, we transport the horses and the riders to our starting point, that we'll join late morning. Lunch not included and departure of riders. IMPORTANT The Bay is not without dangers, it is the reason for which for its crossing, you are supervised by two guides: the one who accompanies you since the beginning of this adventure, and a guide who has the experience of the crossing. On this ride, horses are issued from different breeds : (french saddle horses, arab horses and crossing). All horses are used to make trails. They are 1m45 to 1m60 high. Tack English style saddles or trail saddles depending on the horse. If you have a preference, ask us before booking, we'll do our best to access your enquiry. Required riding level We ask all riders to be advanced riders, able to canter in open spaces, and have a good stamina to ride the daily 5 hours on the saddle... several consecutive days ! You will have to participate in the care and in the wellness of your horse. The riders of less than 12 years, or more than 60 years, as well as the persons furthermore of 85kg can be accepted, but only after validation of our part, under reserve that the equestrian level is sufficient and that we have an adapted frame. ACCOMMODATIONAccommodation
Accommodation is made in guesthouse or riding center with various quality. Sometimes you'll be in 3 or 4 people rooms and other times in dormitory. At some places, it's possible to be accommodation under tent. No possibility of single room accommodation on that ride. Meals Breakfast and dinners are taken to the accommodation and lunches will be picnic lunches furnished by our vehicle. DATES AND RATES
Option Possibility to arrive on the morning of the day 2 : - 40 € / person. 2 or 4 days weekend trail ride in the bay also available ! RATE INCLUDING - the trail as describe in guesthouse with full board basis,
- Guiding with a professional guide, and a second guide for the crossing of the Bay, - transfers from Rennes or Morlaix train stations, - Total financial guaranty (APS) of all payments made to Randocheval. Road transfers are possibles from Rennes train station. Thanks to plan an arrival around 19.00 on sunday as we make only one transfer. A transfer back will be possible on saturday afternoon too. CLIMATE
Normandy and this part of Brittany are famous for its sweet climate, and also for the changing meteo it can be !
Take clothes in order to brave all types of weather, and you must know that the corssing of the bay always is impressive whatever the weather is, the rain adding even to the mysterious and immense side of these vast spaces between earth and sea... Formalities
